The photos, of course, are from Al Jazeera. A conservative acquaintance was delighted that hackers had shut down their web site. But as I see it, Al Jazeera, or something like it, is what we should expect from a free Arabic press. It's silly to shut down Al Jazeera and then say you're fighting for "freedom" in the Middle East. But it's a silliness that comes naturally to many people.
