Big, Beautiful Things
Oct. 16th, 2003 01:30 pmMy job will end in a few months, and there are a lot of things I'll miss about it, such as the awesome-quality printers at the office. I used the giant plotter to print 6-foot world maps for Contagion and Conquest; I used the Lexmark for my variant Starfarers of Cataan tiles. While I'll never replace the plotter, I wanted a high-quality printer to take the Lexmark's role.
So yesterday, feeling glum, I decided to blow a big wad of money (a reliable way to lift my spirits). I went to Circuit City and got one of those giant Hewlett-Packard printer/scanner/fax machine deals. The print quality isn't quite as good as the Lexmark, but it's damn close. (And I wasn't going to spend $2,000, which is what my boss paid for the office printer.) I printed some Pendarther maps this morning, and they are drop-dead gorgeous. Suddenly I'm a happy man.
Now, though, I've got a lot of computer accessories lying around, along with my two extra laptops. Anyone interested in an old scanner, an HP inkjet, or a Toshiba laptop? Just asking.
