The ship combat sounds very similar to the Starfleet Command games (which were basically Star Fleet Battles for the PC) and, IIRC, Star Trek Legacy, which was also all ship combat.
I definitely plan to check it out when I have a little more time and money, hopefully within the next month.
Which is also when I plan to resume the D&D game, FYI.
