TBOGG makes fun of Michael Kelly's rah-rah dispatches from Kuwait, commenting as follows:

USA! USA! USA! .........until a suicide bomber blows up a Starbucks in Georgetown and then even smug curbside flag-wavers like Kelly might realize that the war has come home because a group of neo-con chickenhawks handed a baseball bat to a simpleton and told him that the hornets nest in the backyard was a piñata.

The problem is, if suicide bombers blow up in Georgetown, those "curbside flag-wavers" will demand even more aggressive action, not less. It's what's happened in Israel, after all. (Israelis were indisputably safer under Barak than they've been under Sharon, but the more Israelis get killed, the more they support Sharon, who continues the policies that helped get them killed in the first place.)
